Thumbs up Funky IRISH drink of the day

[edit] Originally I thought this was an Asian drink, but it turns out it's an Irish tradition to mix beer with lemonade - OOPS!

How fitting that I had an Irish drink on what turned out to be St. Patrick's Day! Talk about fate! [/edit]

I was at the supermarket tonight and another drink caught my eye:

Today's funky Asian drink of the day is Jolly Shandy.

Did you ever think to yourself "Man, I wonder how I could capture the crisp cold taste of a lager with the refreshing zing of a lemon!"

Well Jolly Shandy is just for you! It's a "beer lemonade"!

It's actually a low alcohol beer, so forget about getting wasted off this stuff.

It actually does a nice job of doing exactly what I said before... It has the cold "lager bite" that you get when drinking beer, and is very refreshing. Being a non-alcoholic beer, I can see this being the perfect refreshing summer drink.

Indeed they have though of it as well; the label reads, "The refreshing taste of Jolly Shandy will quench the most demanding thirst every time".

I agree!

You can order a shandy at any irish pub. They will make one for you with no quams.

A shandy has been around for ages.

Oops I was wrong then...

I did a search for "jolly shandy" and the only things that came up were Hong Kong web sites about this particular beer...

Glad we have a token irishman here to set things straight!

haha, but I am a filipino.

The jolly shandy might only be made in hong kong.

But a shandy is something a bartender will mix for you at an irish pub. My wife loves them.
