repeat from the lounge but I figured this owuld be a more appropriate arena. sorry for the double post.

I'm building a new system, and going through the drill, but I'm getting a beepcode that I don't recognize. so, if you can provide me with a beep code listing for AWARD bioses or could tell me what this one means, It'd be great.
(and then KU notices the spiffyness of the D-LEDs on the OTHER MOBO. drat.)

Mobo : Gigabyte GA-7ZX
beep: 3(or four) long(1sec) beeps, pause, repeat.
CPU: Duron 600

I think this might be the "no graphics card" beep code but I'm not sure. (it gives me the same one regardless of Vid card in/out)

thanks.

I'm sure you've already tried this, but it may be that the memory isn't seated correctly / operating properly / compatible ...

For the Award BIOS, if the memory isn't seated proprly, you would hear one long beep repeating itself endlessly if I'm not mistaken.

from the phoenix / award bios website:
Quote:
The only AwardBIOS beep code indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep code consists of a single long beep followed by two short beeps. Any other beeps are probably a RAM (Random Access Memory) problem.
Read it here.
