From using an AsRock for a couple of months I have to say it's a pretty sweet board. It only cost me £45 and has DDR400/FSB400 support and AGP 8X, 4 USB 2.0 on the back plate and the ability for a further 2 to be added.
ECS actually make pretty good boards for tweaking with. If you've heard of a guy called Cheepoman he does amazing unofficial BIOSs for most of their boards. PC Chips, despite being the 2nd biggest mainboard maker (or something like that), are pretty shit. I'm sure there's people that'll disagree out there but from what I've read on boards it's better to get an ECS than a PC Chips because the PC Chips ones seem to break a lot easier. As for my AsRock I have to say it's prob the best board I've owned and I've had Soyo's, Jetways, Solteks, Tomatos...quite a few and it's the best value for money i've ever gotten. I should really work for AsRock PR ![]() But if anyone's interested in a Socket A job for a decent price then I'd highly recommend the K7S8XE (Rev 3 if you can get it, or the K7S8XE+ when it comes out soon) |

The K7S8XE uses the SiS748 chipset. It's brand new.

I like my ECS. Good buy for the $$$, IMO.
However, you get what you pay for... Hence why I'm moving over to an Epox 8KHA+. Hardcore mods to come, of course.
