alright I checked my BIOS and this is what I have:

Integrated Peripheals/Onboard PCI device
Serial ATA controller---ENABLED
SATA Raid rom- ----- ENABLED

what should my jumper be set as on my DATA drive (the IDE one converted to SATA)? Could that be the problem??

When I orignally put the TRUE SATA drive in and loaded the OS onto it I had to load 3rd party drivers before it would work right. MY thought is shouldnt I have to load those same drivers on this converted IDE drive in order for it tot read it also/? I have the floppy disc with the drivers but how do i get it onto the converted drive?/ Thanx

disable the sata raid rom. the hdd should be set as master.
after booting to windows, go to admin tools/computer management/disk management and initialize the disk for windows.
