We’re back! After two long stressful days, I am finally back online (via 3G tethering for now) at my new home. Last month, our landlords increased our rent by 30%, so we had to look for a new place to live. Due to the ridiculous housing market here in Hong Kong, we ended up moving out of the city and into a village home near Sai Kung. To get an idea of what these villages look like, click on some random links in the left column of this page.
It is a huge change of pace from our last place, which was a 16 building apartment complex in Kowloon. If you average out 3 people per household, there are about 13,000 people living in that complex – roughly the same population as the town I grew up in. Now I’m in a village with a few houses that are no more than 3 storeys high each. I really like it though, this place has far more character than the last. The only thing I don’t like is having to rely on buses instead of using the amazingly convenient MTR most of the time.
Anyway, we have two days of hardware reviews to catch up on, so here we go!
