Looks like I was thinking along the right lines, as Bionic Commando was my first choice when coming up with a list of old school 2D video games that need to be revamped - in 2D. Okay, so I was only partially correct this time; Capcom also wanted to make a new Bionic Commando game, but instead of going the classic 2D route ala New Super Mario Bros and Contra IV, they are making a 3D Bionic Commando game for PS3, XBOX 360, and PC.
Gamespot has the SCOOP~! so check them out for a nifty video and what may or may not be screenshots from the game.
Let’s hope some of the other games from my list get true revamps, I am dying to play another great 2D Metroid (although the newer Castlevania games are tiding me over).
