AMD’s Never Settle promotions have gotten better over the years, to the point where they were offering plenty of really good games for free. Being able to get a game like Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, or Bioshock Infinite for absolutely free really makes a strong case for choosing them over whatever Nvidia GeForce counterpart you may be considering.
The newest revision of this promo has taken a bit of a twist. Dubbed Never Settle Forever, buyers of Radeon cards can choose from lists of games – which games and how many depend on the the model level purchased, in three tiers:
Finally we have the Gold Reward, available to buyers of the 7900 series (except the 7990). Buyers get to choose three free games, and Tomb Raider is added to the list.
If you buy a Radeon 7990, you get eight free games, which are listed here. This is the only bundle that includes Bioshock Infinite.
Allowing buyers to choose their own reward is a great way to get around the issue of offering them a game they might not want to play, or one that they might already own. Although the tiered system keeps certain games out of the hands of buyers of lower model cards, and Bioshock Infinite is nowhere to be found, I think it’s still a great promotion. Also, the games are getting a little old by now. When the last Never Settle bundle started, blockbuster games like Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, and Tomb Raider were either brand new or not even out yet.
The promotion is currently only available in North America, and will be rolled out to other regions later. I imagine the bundles will be slightly different for various regions, as they were for previous promotions.
